Changing a Data Source in Excel 2000

I've got a problem where I've changed servers and the ODBC data source that
the Excel file was created with.

Now all I want to do is change the data source, but the program won't let
me. I've even tried modifying the connection information I can see within the
XLS file in Notepad, but it isn't being saved right and Excel won't open it
up.

When I click on a cell and tell it to refresh data I get an error message,
and then a window pops up asking me to select a data source. I select the
valid one, but it still hangs and returns an error message. If I try to edit
the query and maybe changes things from within there, I can't get to the
Query page because it hangs and returns the same error.

I don't want to have to tell the user to recreate the worksheet. It seems
like it should be an easy fix, but I can't figure this out for the life of me.

This happen to anyone else?

The 'art' is to get an error that says 'data cannot be returned edit it
MSQuery' this is done by selecting the new datasource and then when you get
an error keep selecting OK and when you can get in MSQuery, click the SQL
button and change it here

You may also find that the DSN is named on the users machine, if so you can
change the data source this points to by going to Administration>ODBC in
control panel in windows
