Hello Wilma,
This sounds like a video card driver problem or another drive/software is
interfering with the video card drive. Try the following -
First, clean boot your system to make sure the problem is not due to some
other piece of software -

Once you clean boot, set your resolution and see if things work okay.
If not, then lets download the most recent driver for your video card,
remove the old driver and install the new one.
If you are unable to find an updated video card driver, please let me know
what video card you have and I will see if I can locate one for you.

Subject: changed the screen resolution and color

i istalled a lexmark all in one printer74x75 and was going to print some
photos some how i changed the screen resolution,and the color,i get a
warning saying(this software is optimized to use these displays settings,at
least 800x600resolution(to fit screen)at least 16 bit color (to show in
full color)Recommened solution click cancel,then open the window displat
settings and increase settings to meet the above mimimus.so i went in and
changed the settings to800x600 resolution and16 bit color but when i go to
all in one printer i get the warning agin but before the warning the
computer turns black like it is logging off and the task bar gets stricks
of blue and green,hope u can help
