Change toolbar default buttons

When you customize a toolbar is there a way to add to, or
replace, the default buttons available?

I have a file of icon images I'd like to be able to use,
instead of the default buttons provided now.

(e-mail address removed)
 
It uses whatever Icon's are on the shortcuts when you drop them on the
toolbar. Change the Icon on the shortcut and then drop it on the Toolbar.
