Change the default theme

After crossing over from WinNT I found out that our application uses the
system pallete so I need some specific color settings.
For this I have created a personal theme and added this theme to the target
image (c:\windows\resources\themes) so it is selectable through the display
settings panel. I would like to make this theme the default.
But in the future I would like my program installation to be able to
overwrite this theme. For example when we want to change the look of our
application.

In order to keep this theme selected I want to delete the other themes or
make the theme tab inaccessible.

So how do I get the correct default theme that is overwritable by a setup??

Some extra questions

When I change the theme via the Display Properties THemes tab the
color scheme in the Appearance tab is alway reset to Windows Standard.

What I can't grasp is that the do the color scheme can be set to a default
value
when loading a theme but can't seem to be stored in a custom theme.

Why??

I just want to set the appearance of windows to my liking, shouldn't be that
hard right ??

Any help would be appreciated
