Change search engine from address bar

Somehow the default search engine from my address bar is AOL. I want to
change it back to MSN. If I click on Search, it uses MSN based on the
settings. Help. I can't stand the AOL search.

The article was very informative, but I don't see a solution beyond what I've
tried. I've tried to restore to the default settings and customize the
search engine in the search pane. Am I missing a tip?

So what does this program do? I get a registry editor msg,
"c:\docum~1\admin~1.ann\locals~1\ tempor~1\content.IE5\UT9AFA10\restor~1.reg"
to registry? <yes><No>

Hi tbusch - Well, you're getting that message because you chose to open that
..reg file rather than save it and Regedit is trying to do just that using
the copy in your TIF. It's OK to go ahead and say "Yes", but it would be
better do the download again and this time save it to some specific folder.
Now right click on that file and then select Merge and say "Yes" where
necessary to enter the data into your Registry.

As to what it does - Well, it isn't a program per se. It's a set of values
which are stored in your Registry. Basically it restores the default values
for your Search Page and Search Bar, Search Assistant, Customization, etc.
and some values you need in order encode some searches correctly, etc. when
these have for some reason become corrupted. It also restores the necessary
values for your URL prefix translation functions for http:// (the default),
gopher, ftp, home, mosaic, and www. This controls the function that allows
you to just enter google.com in your address bar, for example, and have
it automatically translated to the necessary http://www.google.com/ when
you click Go.
