HOW TO: Change the Resolution of a PowerPoint (2000) Slide
That You Export As a Picture (.jpg)

I have. Whole group moves and objects within the group don't separate. I'll email a PowerPoint page showing what I'm trying to do to the below, assuming that's okay with you.

Is there a way to change the registry so that PowerPoint
can export at a higher resolution instead of using third-
party add-ons?
 
The second part of the FAQ discusses how to do it without an add-in.
