I have just brought a second hand Laptop
I am trying to change the registered user and owner to me
I have gone to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWSNT\CURRENTVERSION
and changed to my details there.
I have also gone into the WINLOGON and changed my details there.
There is already set up an Administrator. I have set up a new Administrator with my details both in
control userpasswords2.
When I right click START the other user is still shown there, but I cannot access any of his details to delete.
Now when I switch the PC on it goes via my new logon as administrator with basic icons on the desktop. This is not a problem as I can add icons for the programs I wish to use, but I would like to be able to remove the exisiting owners folders when I use the explore function.
Can anybody advise how to do this, and also if there are any other settings that I should also change.
