Change Registered Owner Name

I have read all posts pertaining to this issue and all answers that I have
found apply to XP. I am Vista Home Premium. My name was entered
incorrrectly at set-up by Best Buy. My husband took it back to them and they
said I had fixed it. Can anyone help me? After spending $$$ on a new
computer, I'd like to at least have my name as Owner.

Best Buy is most definitely *NOT* a good place to take a computer, even
one purchased there, for any kind of service. They seem to hire their
"technicians" entirely for their lack of ability.

However, to fix the "Registered to" information for
WinNT/2K/XP/Vista you can use Start > Run > Regedit.exe to edit:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization

How this will affect the name displayed in previously installed
applications will vary depending upon each individual program; some
read the registered owner information dynamically, while others read
it only during installation.
