Dear Tech Help,

I'd like to change the Product Key of my Operating System
(win xp). Anytime i want to do some update, i got an
error message telling me that the product key that i used
to install the operating system is wrong. Now i got a new
product key, but i do not know how to replace the old one
with the new one

Can you help?

Thank you

Greetings --

Are you trying to install Service Pack 1 and getting the
following:

The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid

You need to purchase and use a legitimate full retail copy of
WinXP Pro to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation,
using the new CD and Product Key.

Remember, you should also report whomever sold you the pirated
software to eBay and the pertinent law enforcement agencies; you've
been defrauded.
