Change order of data in Pivot table

B

Brad L.

I have a pivot table that is set up like this:

It has two data fields, External Sales and IC Sales and two column headings,
Year and Quarter.

Sum of External Sales Sum of IC Sales
2003 2003 Total 2003 2003 Total
Q1 Q2 Q1 Q2
Product A
Product B

I would like to group the data by quarter, rather than data field. For
example, I would like it to show:

2003
2003 Total
Q1 Q1
Total Q2 Q2
Total
Sum of External Sales Sum of IC Sales
Sum of External Sales Sum of IC Sales
Product A
Product B

Is there anyway to break up the data fields so the data for Qtr 1 is grouped
and totaled?

Thanks,
Brad

If you drag the Quarter button so it's the first field in the column
area, the data will be grouped by quarter. If a total doesn't appear,
double-click on the Quarter button, and for Subtotal, select Automatic.
