Running XP Pro & the titles under my desktop are white & hard to see. Can
someone tell me where to change them to black? I do know I go to right-click
on my desktop, choose Properties\Appearance\Advanced but I don't know what
to change. Tried a couple & hated a green desktop :o) All I want to do is
make the desktop icons text black. Thanks to anyone who can help
......Sandy

Hi Sandy,

The icon text color can not be changed. Windows manages
the icon text color and will change it depending on the color
of the background.

See if this helps. In Display Properties - Appearance Tab -
Effects - Choose Clear Type.

Thanks Bert,

Just another XP surprise as I know I could change the color with 98SE. Just
wanted it to look good with my Christmas Wallpaper. I do have my font set at
Clear Type & yes it does help but black would look better :o)

Thanks again. Another note to make

Also if you have Use Icon drop shadows turned on (transparent
background under the titles) then the color will always be white.

And if it's turned off the text will be black if the desktop background is light in colour and white if dark in colour.
