how do I change a bitmap
image to jpeg format ?

With your image processing software. I use Paint Shop Pro, a product of
Corel, mostly, sometimes Microsoft Photo Editor, sometimes Corel Paint or
Corel Draw. It's been a good while since I did much with Microsoft Paint,
which comes free with Windows, but believe it may also do what you want.
Many vendors have image processing software at varying price levels.

This is a Microsoft Access newsgroup, but Microsoft Access itself does not
have the ability to perform the conversion you desire.

By using one of the graphic softwares.

Windows XP has the in-built "Imaging" you can use.

BTW, you posted in the wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft
Access, a database application. If you use a particular sfotware for edit
graphics, post to the newsgroup for the software you are using.

IrfanView can do that and far more, and it's free.
