change format for table borders

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out with an interesting table format issue I have with powerpoint 2003.

When attempting to change the borders in a newly created table (for a specific selection of cells), all my horizontal and vertical internal borders obtain arrowheads. Does anyone know how I can stop this

We are having the same problem. I think it may be linked to the master formatting of the presentation template. Is there any way to see the master formatting for tables in a presentation template? The only masters are the slide and title.
