I have 40 xp machines in a domain enviroment. I want to add a user group to
have Read, Write, and Execute permission to a folder and some files. Can
this be accomplished through GPO? Thanks.

Spring,

Not sure that I am following what you are asking. You have a domain
environment, correct. This means that you have at least one Domain
Controller. Is this also your File Server, or is that ( File Server ) being
handled by another server? Essentially, it does not really matter.

Simply create a folder, share it, create the local security group, apply the
share/ntfs permissions to that and the global or universal security group to
that local security group. If you need to do this remotely you can use
rmtshare.

HTH,

Cary
