change calendar default ordering

Is there a way to change the default order of calendar items in outlook 07?
right now, it is alphabetical.
Would like to change either by category, or priority.
 
Sure, simply customize your view to change the sorting order;
View-> Arrange By
or for even more options;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Sort...
 
I'm in 07... in calendar view. in "view" in the top, there is no "arrange
by".

when I "customize current view", there is no option to arrange by either.

Please advise... I appreciate the help. I'm relatively well versed in
Outlook and customizing... can't seem to figure it out.
 
to add... when customizing, group by... and sort... are greyed out > they
can't be clicked. I'm in day / week / month view.

Well, then it is sorted graphically by time and not alphabetically as you
stated in your original post or am I missing something about your
configuration?
If you want to sort it by any other property, then you'll have to switch to
a table view such as By Category or All Appointments first.
View-> Current View...

After that, you can sort and group by pretty much any property that you
like.
