I am trying to change the sequence that the animation occurs in a PPT chart.
I can not drag the series in the Custom Animation tool bar, it is blocks me
from doing so.
The chart has two Y axis. The left primary is a number, the right
secondary is a date. The animation occurs primary items first, the secondary.
I need to mix them all up for presentation clarity.
The chart is an excel chart copied into Power Point.
Any help?

Wow, I'd not realized that the order of the data series in a chart animation
can't be changed, but that does seem to be the case. I suspect there's a
reason for that, but I'm not sure what it is.

Only suggestion I have for you is to ungroup your chart (twice), regroup the
data series as appropriate, and animate those groups.

When I have to ungroup like this, I make a copy of the actual chart,
right-click and choose Format/Object, and set it to 5% size on the Size tab.
Then I drag that off the edge of the slide so I can always get back to the
real chart and data if necessary.

Thanks Echo. I am impressed that you figured out a way to do this. I was
finally able to get around to playing with this method. It works but is sort
of a pain to have to do it this way. Fortunately, I was able to rearrange the
series in the Excel file and work around the order of animation in the
presentation so that I didnt have to bounce around between the primary and
secondary axis.
