hey, I had to buy a new graphics card as my old one died, my motherboard
takes up to AGP X4 - the new card is X8. on the display properties it says
its currently running at X2. my bios has no option to change the AGP's
speed.
does anyone know of any way to change this?

Wha t is the motherboard make and model - there may be a switch on the
motherboard.

You may have to update the bios of the motherboard. Go to
their website and look at the available bios and see if
any correct the problem you are having.

done that today....
the NEC technical support said either change ur m-board or just live with
it!!! great help!!!

Where does NEC support fit in??? MSI has there own web site.

its an NEC computer. so I called them and they didn't know how to fix the
problem...

What make/model is your new Video Card? You could try
using something like RivaTuner or NVmax, if you have a
supported card.

let me know. By the way what motherboard chipset are you
using?
