Change Admin Password

Sue

We are using Win2000 server w/Active Directory. This is a domain controller
and we have apprx 20 workstations.

I recently became the administrator of the server and want to reset the
admin password. Is this as simple as going into Active Directory,
right-click on the 'Administrator' user and resetting password? If so, is
there anything I need to do before I reset? Wonder if there is a couple
workstations logged in as Administrator, will that make a difference?

I cannot find any documentation on this. Everything is about "forgetting"
the admin password.

Thanks for your help.

When we change the admin password, which we do periodically (it makes good
sense), we inevitably forget about some service or program somewhere that is
using the admin account. When that process (whatever it is) fails, we go
"oh yeah, forgot that one...".

So, go ahead & change the password, but be vigilent of processes you have on
your network that may fail after the change.
