CGM Files

I am trying to open cgm files in PowerPoint 2000. I can
see it in the preview but can not open them. What do I
need to do?

I believe the CGM filter is only installed if you specifically request it when installing powerpoint/office

If you do a custom install then there is an option to install the cgm (computer graphics metafile) filter buried
somewhere under graphic filters

PowerPoint doesn't open files other than its own presentation (PPT) files and a
few other related ones. It *imports* many other file types into existing
presentations, though.

Open a presentation or start a new one, then choose Insert, Picture, From File
and pick your CGM
