CF on Consecutive cells

Dear All,

I have read loads of posts on CF, but still can't get my Excel 2010 to
do what I need.

Column A1:A50 has a target weight in each cell. Column B1:B50 is
actual weight. I want to CF B:B that if B:B is < than A:A the cell
displays Yellow text on Red Background, if > A:A Then Black text on
lime green background. However when I copy, or Paste Special>Formats,
or format paint. The reference on all following cells still refer to
A1.

I have tried taken out the $ and copied again, still to no avail.....
Any suggestions.

Duncan.

I do not know __exacty__ what you have tried. Your description is
unclear.

The following works fine in XL2003. You might need to do change some
keystrokes for the different XL2010 user interface.

Select B1. For the first CF condition, enter the CF formula =A1<B1
and select the yellow Font Color and the red Pattern Color. For the
second CF condition, enter the CF formula =A1>B1 and select the black
(or automatic) Font Color and the lime green Pattern Color.

Click the Paint Brush on the toolbar, and select B2:B50.

Alternatively, copy B1, select B2:B50, right-click and click on Paste
Special > Formats.
