Ok, I'm trying to get EFW working on CF by the method prescribed in MKBA
814257.

1. create the build using TD with Target Device Settings boot drive c:
archpath 0,0,0,1 Boot Partion size 485 (same CF size reported by using
Diskmgmt.msc) and EFW with Protected Volumes 1, Overlays 1. Size 20000KB,
Start-not checked, LW-not checked, disk # 0 Partion # 1, IDE, RAM. Opt
Performance.

2. Format the CF using DiskMGMT the CF has 2 partions 1st-485mb NTFS and
2nd-2mb unallocated.

3. Map the CF drive to the TD machine and copy the build image files to the
CF drive in IDE2 of target machine. The target machine has a HD on IDE1 with
2 partions 1 has XP and 2 is used for XPE testing.

4. Shutdown the Target Machine and remove the Hardrive from IDE1 and move
the CF from IDE2 to IDE1.

5. Startup and let FBA run. Here's last lines of the LOGFILE.

6. auto-login as User and run EWFMGR in the runtime and it returns "Unablle
to find and Ewf volume". The MKBA 81425 says it should returns "Unable to
locate EWF Partion"

8.run EWFMGR C: and returns "Unable to open the target device \\.\c:"

7. Logout as User and Login as Administrator

9. run EWFMGR in the runtime and it returns "Unablle to find and Ewf
volume"

10. .run EWFMGR C: Failed getting protected volume configuration with error
1.

Also have tried Slobodan's EWF RAM Registry with no luck either.

From my reading of MKBA 81425 I don't need the second 2MB partition on the
CF. Do I need to remove it? or RUN or use ETPREP -all befor moving the CF
from IDE2 to IDE1 and running FBA?

Thanks for you help.

What method you are trying to use? Trough component I have provided or you
follow instructions to make modification to registry from EWF component in
TD.
If you are using my component then you must remove MS EWF component from TD
so temporary partition won't be created.

You can find complete doc, and component on www.xpefiles.com

Using properly methods I described you won't see info that you provided from
log file since FBA is not used for creating temporary partition.

Also delete EWF partition from CF. You can see it and delete it using
diskpart.exe.

Check ARC path for EWF to reflect partition you want to protect.

Slobodan
