Certficate Message Popup When Starting Outlook

I get one or two message Popups when I start Outlook (2003). The full text is:

"The server your are connected to is using a security certificate that could
not be verfieid.

The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value.

Do your want to continue using this server? Yes - No"

I use Earthlink and another account both require secure login's for e-mail
retrievial. How do I get this to work, without these pop-ups. Thanks

Assuming this page describes the SMTP authorization part to send mail from
anywhere

I would say that Earthlink should verify that the certificate installed on
the server has a CN name of smtpauth.earthlink.net. The second part of this
is that if they are using a self-signed or internal pki infrastructure, they
should be supplying the certificate chain to its customer base. (e.g. you
need to get a copy of the public half of the public/private keypair
installed on your machine before the prompts stop.)
