Certain programs now not connecting to the internet

After downloading Internet Explorer 7 Beta, some of my programs like Comcast
Rhapsody, Apple Quicktime, and my computer's automatic driver updater cannot
recognize any internet connections even when my computer is connected and
other programs operate and connect normally. I am assuming this is because
of IE 7 because I was using Rhapsody at the time I was downloading and it cut
out once I set up IE. What is going on and how can I get these programs to
connect again?
