Certain pages load then go blank, i cant ever view them again

When I use either internet explorer or msn explorer, some
of the sites I go on load then all of a sudden just go
blank. I refresh and it does the same,; loading and going
blank. Now I can't access some of my favourite sites
because of this. All help will be tried and appreciated!
I use a HP laptop using Windows XP.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
