A few weeks ago, I installed an upgrade to a program
called Packet Builder. Ever since the upgrade, my Windows
Media Player refuses to play AVIs and WAVs, and certain
Control Panel items that I use (Network Connections,
Scheduled Tasks) are no longer functioning. I do not want
to re-image my computer because there are a lot of third-
party programs on it that are a pain to reinstall. Is
there any way that these Control Panel items can be made
functional again? Thanks.

Did you try uninstalling Packet Builder? If you want to use it, call
their tech support and let them know about the bug.
