Cell value by color

Hi all
Is there a way to assign a value to a cell based on its color? I would like my colored cells to have a value of "1", and all uncolored cells to have a value of "0".

I know I can assign a color based on a cell value, but I'd like to do it the other way around, with the cell color determining the cell value.
