Cell selection color

I recently upgraded to Office 2007 and noticed thatExcel no longer
highlights selected cells with a gray color, it is now a vary pale hard to
see pastel. Is there any way I can manipulate this color setting?

Many others have reported this. Perhaps it might get changed in the
next SP ??

I see a very pleasant light grey when I select a range in Excel 2007
As Pete said, other have complained.
Wonder if it is a video problem or different Windows Appearance settings.
Want to continue this at a personal level (just remove TRUENORTH. from my
address) to compare various setting?
I have Office 2007 on four machines in my home office and none have your
problem.
best wishes

Hi Bernard,

We have the problem on all 50 of our Mac's running Window's XP here at
Stanford. And I have it at home on both my machine, one an IBM laptop under
VISTA, the other a desktop under XP. The highlight is visible but much
lighter than 2003. On your machines can you test it for 2003 and compare?

Darker in XL2003
In XL2003 the light blue shade is more-or-less the same as the background
colour of the XL2003 Menu bar
In XL2007 the paler blue is about the same shade as the XL2007's Title bar
Email me privately and I will send you a SnagIt screen capture showing both

well, if you haven't seen windows 7, it's all pastel. too. along with anything
from the windows live team, like windows live mail. a lot in the beta are
complaining about it and microsoft doesn't seem to care.

I find the whole issue of this to be unbelievable... just about everyone I
know has had this complaint and it's really, really annoying. The complaints
have been bouncing around since Excel 2007 hit the streets.

Can it really be that hard to allow users to adjust either the color or
contrast setting, or is it just stubborness on the part of the Excel product
team. While being an avid MS fan, it's things like this that make you start
to loose the faith !!

Our company has just recently upgraded to 2007 and I have spent many hours
trying to get excel to the point where I can see discontinuous cell selectons
(I still cannot). The light shading is virtually non-existent on my screen
(as well as the many dozens of others in my company). Saying this problem is
"really, really annoying" is a kind way of describing it. I have co-workers
with much stronger opinions.
