Cell returning actual function syntax (=sum.....) instead of result

I'm using the sum function and my cells are displaying the
syntax, i.e., =sum(c3/c2), instead of the result it s/b
returning. I've already checked Tools/Options/View and the
box in front of Formulas is unchecked, so that's not it.

Hi
your cell is probably formated as 'Text'. Select the cell and goto
'Format - Cells'. Change the format to 'General' and re-enter your
formula
