Celine Dion sounds like a Chipmunk - Audio playback speed

I have a P4 2.4gh laptop with XP, and the audio playback
is too fast, for example voices on video clips are high
pitched or Celine Dion sounds like a chipmunk. What
setting do I use to set the playback speed?

subject "music palys too fast on WMP9 for XP". It's the
only thing that's worked for me, including a visit to the
nwlink web site. Try it. Good luck. JIM
