Anyone know what CDill Program Directory is?
I am unable to find in any of my directories,
However Spybot keeps listing.
I don't want to kill if it essential.
Thanks, Larry

This is a licensing program that some software uses. Don't delete it.

It's a lot more than a licensing program, it's considered spyware most
places. It's also very hard to get rid of, even after uninstalling the app
it came with, such as TurboTax. One of the claims by the sellers of Cdilla
(Macromedia) is that, among other things, it can "Require users to activate
or register their software, and gather valuable data on your customer base."

There is a Cdilla removal program on the TurboTax site.
Now. Makes one wonder why they had to install separate software, without an
uninstall program, that requires yet another download to uninstall it. Not
for your benefit, I can assure you.

At least they have acknowledged their error and the new version will not
have any activation features, can be used on multiple computers and the
current versions activation feature is not being enforced. From the FAQ
section on their website.

The original question was whether Cdilla was spyware or not. It's seems to
be a matter of opinion, but it sure smells like spyware to me.

Cdilla is essentially Digital Rights Management for Turbo Tax.
I can't remember who they are affiliated with, but I remember
reading some of their web-pages during last year's Tax season.

Thanks to all who contributed to my "CDill" problem.
I did download Turbotax and was unaware that's where
CDilla originated from. I appreciate all the experts who
commented. Many thanks again. Larry
