cd-writing

Trying to write pictures to cd- goes thru steps using The Wizard but ends up
with message that the cd may not be usable-i know that they are blank, so
what could be the problem (hardware is hp cd-writer 9500 series). I'm a
little computer illiterate. help!

Are the disks formatted and what application are you using to burn/copy them to
disk?

Your CD burner could just be dirty. Try a cleaning CD. Also, try writing
to a completely different brand of CD-R. In my experience, HP burners
tend to be picky. They also tend to go dead after 2-3 years of use.
Easily replaceable though for about $40.
