CD won't eject

Until today my cd-rw worked fine. Now when I try to manually eject with the
button on the base unit, and when I try to eject via any software program
nothing happens.

When I check the properties of the drive in system it says it is working
correctly. However, when using CD-EX for instance, it doesn't seem to be
reading the drive.

I have looked inside and nothing appears disconnected.

Now, I assume that the drive is broken, but if anyone has any ideas to the
contrary I would appreciate it very much!

Take a paperclip, unfold it, and stick it in the little hole in the drive.

Sincerely,

A common problem in XP . There is no fix that I know of , but a procedure
to stop it from happening again I can tell you . Leave your burning software
working in the Task Manager . Use the cd burning software to eject the disk
using the right click menu from the icon. Give time for the burn or read to
finish , wait for the lights to go off. If you cannot get the cdrw rom to
eject reboot then reload the software , (this time only , hopefully ) . I
use Roxio , but I presume that this will work for other titles also. Jym
