CD Tray for Epson Stylus Photo 900

Hi,

I have a UK Stylus Photo 900 printer which has a faulty printhead. However
other than that there is nothing wrong with the printer. To recoup my losses
on a new printer - is the CD printing tray worth any money?? I read there
are restrictions for the manufacturers (Canon?) selling them with their
printers - does this apply to Epson?

What do you think the tray is worth??

Thanks

Nice thought, but this doesn't really apply to Epson. However those
selling "1218228" (I believe this is a part number) do ask a pretty
penny. I'd check with an epson parts dealer for a realistic price but
given there are those who are asking US$50 to EU$100 for the stupid
thing, something which should carry a price of 400 yen. But given
there are people selling these things for a nutty high price, this 2
quid item might easily sell for 20 quid.

I'd reccomend getting advice from Arthur Entlich regarding head
cleaning.

The asking price of USD$50 on e-bay or some website asking 99 euros
could for a product which sells for 400 yen, i.e. 2 quid in japan seems
nutty to me... I would check with epson directly for the asking price
on "1218228". But is a part on a desired printer and certaintly the
sort of thing that would sell on e-bay, certainly for 10 quid or more.
But if someone is willing to shell out 40 quid for it, who would
normaly pay more... great.
