does anyone know why a cd rom does not recognize the name
of a new cd rom when inserted? by this i mean, i have xyz
cd inserted into the bay, i eject it and then insert pdq
cd rom. when i go to my computer to open it it still says
xyz cd rom instead of correctly displaying pdq cd rom.

This is a common problem, XP does not always refresh that information either
in My Computer or in Explorer. Usually, closing and reopening either will
refresh the view and display the new information.
