CD ROM will not open 1 disc

I just replaced ME with a fresh harddrive and XP home
edition. Before switching I saved a buch of files and
folders to CD. Now XP will not open the disc. It treats
it as a blank CD. I put it in my parents Gateway with XP
and it opens fine. I can read and write new files, music,
etc., but cant open this one disc. The Gateway gave a
message that this CD must use DirectX. I have RealOne and
QuickTime. Its almost like a program took over the CD ROM
and that program doesnt recognize the disc written on ME.
Im computer illiterate and dont even know how to find out
what program is being used to open CDs. I really want to
keep the folders on that disc. Thanks-Mark

What type of CD did you create? If you used DirectCD or INCD, then you will
need to re-install them on the XP drive. Thses type of CDs are formatted as
"packet-writing" CD and act like a big floppy disk. XP does not know how to
read this type without adding the utilities mentioned above.
