Cannot get Windows 2000 Professional to recignize cd players/writers. I've
read that you need to make entries to the registry including the BaseAddress,
DriveControl & Interrupt of the cd drive in question. Cannot locate this
information on the drive, in the owner manual or at the manufacturer's site.
There must be an "easier" way. Receiving an error code 31.

Thanks for any help.

'I've read that you need'
You better stop reading before you do some damage.
Is this a new cd, connected correctly? - possibly not me thinks -
What does device manager say about it?
It was supplied with drivers/software disk?

In addition to DL's suggestions. This article may help.
