CD-ROM/DVD-ROM MISSING

Hello All,
I have a compaq Presario 5BW21, I am missing my CD-ROM drive and DVD-ROM
drive. The two drives are not showing up in my computer or win explorer. The
drives are not showing up in the BIOS or device manager. Any help I can get
will be greatly appreciated.

If the drives are not showing up in BIOS than they can't show up in Windows.
Make sure that the cables are seated properly in the drives and on the
motherboard and that they are jumpered correctly. Assuming you have them on
the same IDE cable, make sure the first one is jumpered to master and the
second one jumpered to slave.
