i finally found out what is wrong with my cd drive. the
message i am now getting tells me that i need to re-
install the cd-rom for my mitsumi cd. the only problem
is that i don't think i have the hardware. is there a
way i can download it from somewhere? here is what i
need:

mitsumi cd-rom fx4821t!a

You have the hardware. THAT'S the drive itself. Perhaps you need the
driver software, which should have come with the drive. There may be help
here...or at the manufacturer's WEBsite or phone support.
