CD Maker Power Toy

Hello,
I downloaded Power Toy SlideShow Maker and I do not like how it took control of how I save picture files on a CDR. It puts the info in a temp file first then burns them at the end of my session. I want to save a picture file when I choose it and not wait until it decides to.

Is there any way to uninstall it? The site I downloaded from said yes but there is no program listed anywhere (Add/Remove Program) or in my Start Program list.
Can anyone help me? I can't run System Restore because too much time has past and other things have been downloaded so I would lose alot.

Thanks.

Look for CD Slide Show Generator in Add or Remove Programs.

CD Slide Show Generator = Slideshow.exe

There is no such program in the Power Toys Folder, just a readme me file which states I can uninstall any power toy application. I used search program for Slideshow.exe, CD Slideshow Generator, CD Writing Wizard, and got nothing. I cannot find anything. But when I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop my picture files, the CD Writing Wizard appears and a write to CD now option is listed. This means my picture info is in a temp file somewhere until I am finished adding pics. Then when I'm done it gives me the option to write to the CD. I use Roxio Direct CD and now it is under the CD Writing Wizard control not mine. How can I remove this program when it does not show up anywhere? HELP!!!

Phil,

They may be hidden.

HOW TO: Search For Hidden Or System Files In Windows XP

To display hidden files and folders

==========

CD Writing Wizard is the native XP deal. CD Slideshow Generator probably
turned it on.

If your using Roxio Direct CD turn off CD Writing Wizard...
Open My Computer | Right click CD Drive | Properties |
Recording tab | UNCheck: Enable CD recording on this drive |
Apply | OK

i assume that this toy works automatically. That is, you do not have to
turn it on before using it, unlike say, the TWEAKUI toy. If so, there are a
limited number of places from which it can be starting itself. Try running
MSCONFIG. That is, Start, Run, type "MSCONFIG" without quotes. Click the
"startup" tab, then look for something that might be the slide show toy.

You can prevent it from starting by unchecking the box next to the program
and rebooting

However, unless you are sure that you have picked the right program, take
good notes, becasue you may want to turn it back on. Also, given the file
name in MSCONFIG, you can then do a search to find its location. Be sure
that the search includes hidden and system folders. Once found, right-click
on it to get properties and some info.
