cd dvd drive

I need a new cd/dvd read. I am not interested in it's write
ability, and don't care if it writes. My electronic knowledge ends
at (don't laugh:) 8 track stereo's.

I have a 'vanilla machine running XPro SP2. My current CD reader is
8x Speed. I understand that the 10(?) speed will make a big
difference. A game came out (SH3) that I need a DVD for.

Can you recommend a CD/DVD unit for me? I like brand names and have
a beige case, but don't really care. An URL at Newegg and I'll kiss
ya.

The computer is used only by me and used for only playing games and
surfing the Net. Please be cheap :)

I highly recommend LG drives. I have had very good luck with them.

This drive comes highly recommended by myself. I have three of these.

By the way, it reads/writes to CDR, and reads DVD
