DirectCD is used to allow CD-RW to be formatted in "packet-writing" form.
This allows the CD-RW to act like a huge 500MB floppy disk. In order to
unlock the disk, locate the DirectCD icon in the System Tray and right click
on it. There should be an option to eject the disk.

If you can't open the drive using the suggestions in the other replies
then you can open it manually. Best to do this with the computer
shut down.

You will need a "universal fixit tool" (paper clip).

Straighten out the paper clip so you have about a 2 inch (5 cm) length
of straight wire. Look carefully on the front of the drive for a
small hole, just slightly larger than the paper clip wire.

Insert the paper clip wire and push it in firmly but do not *slam* it
in. It should go in about 2 or 3 cm (an inch) and then stop. Push a
little harder and the door latch should release and the tray will
slide out partly. You can then pull the tray the rest of the way out
and remove the CD.

Good luck

The CD is one that was possibly created using DirectCD and not Easy CD
(different methods). Go to My Computer, r-click the drive and take
Eject
