I have a dell with the generic cd burner and recently it wouldn't work. This
is what it said "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code
19)"
what can I do tot fix this?

Go to device manager (Start, Control Panel, Performance/Maintenance, System
Info, Hardware tab, Device Manager button). Then look for your CD-RW drive,
double-click on it. A properties window will come up. If it says something is
wrong with the device, go through the troubleshooter. If the troubleshooter
doesn't help (which usually happens to me), go to Drivers tab and re-install
your burner's device driver. Then reboot and try burning a CD. If there are
any problems (or if there is success) please tell me.
