Categories in Public Calendar

When someone assigns a category to our public calendar, the category color is
only visible on that person computer. Since this is a public calendar
shouldn't it show as that color for everyone viewing that public calendar?

I have the same Question, in Outlook 2003 the categories were included in the
contact record. Yet in the Outlook 2007 contact record in the public folder
it does not keep the color assigned to it. Can this be dealt with if the
Colors are assigned the same name on the different clients that are accessing
the public contact record?

If I have blue for that category and you have yellow, whose color wins? There's no guarantee that each person will see the same color unless each person's master category list is configured to use the same color for the same category. This is definitely a change from the way calendar color categoriies worked in earlier versions; Microsoft is aware that Outlook 2007 doesn't quite meet all needs in this area.

Yes, if every person has the same color associated with the same color, all should see an individual item with that category marked with the same color.
