My grandma has an Aspire Turbocase X-dreamer II. The temperature guage on
it keeps working off and on. Sometimes the temperature will display and
sometimes it won't. The backlight will work sometimes and sometimes it
won't. And sometimes it will work 100% and other times it will work 0%.
Every time that I touch the power button I get a static-electricity shock...
what's happening?

Check the Aspire web site. This has nothing to do wil Windows XP, it is a
hardware issue.

I know it's a hardware issue, but I'm fairly new to the Usenet, so I don't
know exactly which newsgroup to use for this particular hardware issue yet.
Thanks.

What's happening is that your computer has not been built correctly and
something that shouldn't be touching metal is, and is shorting out.
Standoffs might not have been used correctly, for instance. Take the
computer back to where she bought it and insist that they fix it. This
has nothing to do with Windows XP, the operating system.
