I have been using Access for a year now and love it. What careers in access
make the most money?

What careers in access make the most money?

Try creating an investment banking or shares trading app. ;-)

Seriously, that's not a technical question we can help you with.

That's a bit like asking what careers in Word or PowerPoint make the most
money.

Access is a versatile *TOOL* which can be used in many different lines of
work. Some folks actually make money by providing consulting services (in
Access, or in some combination of Access and other software) for hire; some
people write books on the subject... but Access, by itself, isn't really a
career path for most.

I created an app for a client that allowed them to calculate what to
pay their employees. It was so good that 4 other firms in the same
line of work bought it.

All those firms are out of business, because they were all
penny-stock brokers. Online trading completely killed their business
(I told them they should hook up with online services years before
they went out of business, but they didn't believe me).

I guess you're right. The basis of my question is dervied from seeing some of
friends in non-technical areas making money on the side. Example, my friend
who is a plumber for a large plumbers union will do home side jobs on the
side. So what is an analyst to do to make money on the side? free- lance
application building for small businesses?

Yes, Access is a very good application. I taught myself years ago and still I
learn something new nearly every time I use it. I suppose I would call myself
an advanced user but not yet a Master, that would take the rest of my life I
think.

Years ago, I have created a number of bespoke databases for various
companies containing a large number of tables, forms, reports etc etc and to
this day I still think they use them, needless to say they often paid quite
good money for them.

To design and build such databases and sell them to clients - you've got to
be good, really good!
