Hi,Can anyone help. My word programme has begun to allocate capital letters
to the first letter of each line of text. Cannot seem to change it back to
the conventional format. Has anyone had this problem and how can you change
it?

Check your Autocorrect settings and uncheck that option. Further
questions about MS Word should be posted in one of the newsgroups
dealing with it. That's where you'll find the Word experts (this
newsgroup is for questions about the XP operating system).

Here is a list of all the MS public newsgroups so you can find the right
one(s) for MS Word:

If you end each line with the "Enter" key, you are creating a new paragraph. Hence the next line is
a new sentence and all sentences begin with a capital letter.
You can use the "Shift+Enter" key to make a line break and then the first word in the next line will
not be capitalized.

And this has what to do with XP?

Grateful that above helps and also for your tolerance that I might have used the wrong forum. Thanks for replying helpfully.

The reason to suggest a proper forum is because that is where you are more
likely to find someone who knows the answer. You were lucky this time.
