You presumanly have a 46.7GB C: partition. The rest is either

1. unallocated space (available for a partition, but no partition was ever
created there).

2. Partitioned (probably as D:) and you just haven't used it

3. Partitioned but never formatted, so it has no drive letter.

Go to Start | Programs | Adminstrative Tools | Computer Management, and
click on Disk Management to see which it is.

hi Ken, got to dosk management , there was two partitions but silly me i had
installed acronis true image last week and did not think it would take a 30gb
slice out of my hard drive, anyway thanks for your help Ken. John

It doesn't. You've got TI set to do backups and put the backups in that
spot. Open up TI and change the options to your taste.

You're welcome, but Acronis True Image didn't take any slice out of your
drive. It didn't make the two partitions, and they were undoubtedly both
there before you installed it.
