I'm having trouble using a feature in PP2003. During the slide show, I
right click for pointer options, click on pen options, pointer options and
try to write by dragging the mouse, but nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Let's step back - If you right click and select pointer options, then select
which pen and which color, does it work? Also, what color ink did you
select? (I am wondering if it is the same color as your background.)

Do the two computers have the same type of mouse? Have you tried it with a
different mouse? Does this happen with all presentations, or just this one?
Oh, and when you select a pen and a color, when you move the mouse do you
see a dot of color as the cursor indicator?

1. Do the two computers have the same type of mouse? No, but both are
wireless, one is a new Microsoft, ther other is a Logitech
2. Have you tried it with a different mouse? No, just those two so far
3. Does this happen with all presentations, or just this one? Yes, the
problem happens with all presentations
4. Oh, and when you select a pen and a color, when you move the mouse do you
see a dot of color as the cursor indicator? No, nothing appears.

Thanks.

Well, grasping at straws here, have you installed the critical fix for
Office 2003? You can get it by opening PowerPoint and going to Help > Check
for Updates. You will be routed to the OfficeOnline page. Follow the links
there to "Check for Updates".

I have a wireless mouse, running PowerPoint 2003 on a Win XP Pro system and
have never had a problem with the Pen tool in Slide Show mode. The only
other thing I can think of might be to check for a mouse driver update.
