Can't use Remote Desktop Connection over the internet

D

Dror

Hi all,

I'm trying to use RDC from one computer to another over the internet,
in order to help a friend, but I can't manage to get a connection.
I think this is a simple problem since I can't get a ping to the
person's
IP address (although I can ping his gateway).

The problem is not at my computer since I managed to control a
different computer.

The other side has WINXP with sp-2. At his computer, the RDC
connection is enabled in the remote tab, and the WINXP firewall opened
up ports for RDC.

Thanks,
Dror.

It's quite likely that your friend needs to configure his/her router to
allow the RDC connection to be passed through the router to his/her PC.
