Can't use reminder on calendar

G

George M. Lutz

I use Microsoft Outlook 2002.

When I try to close an appointment entry after clicking on the
"Reminder" box I get the followimg message:

"The reminder for 'Whatever' will not appear because the item is not
in your Calendar or Tasks folder. Is this OK?"

Well, it's not OK, because I'd really like the reminder!

We use a group calendar, and I'm assuming that this feature can't be
used because you wouldn't want the entire group getting the reminder.
However, the "entire group" is me and my secretary, and I have no
problem with that.

So, can I use the Reminder feature just for me, for me and "everyone"
in the group, or not at all? I'd hate to have to duplicate an entry
in my personal calenar just to be reminded of the appointment.

Thanks!

George Lutz

You can invite yourself as well for the meeting so it will show up in your
Calendar as well. It will display the reminder then.

Another way to do this is to have your secretary select all appointments in
your shared calendar and right mouse drag them to your calendar. This will
offer a "move" or "copy" function. You'll probably have to do it the other
way around though - make new appointments in your calendar and drag copies
of them to the other calendar.

I recall reading about a patch that will also make reminders work in other
folders. Hunt around on slipstick and the MS Outlook site.
